Parent Meeting
I think this school is absolutely retarded and everything they do to try and "help things" is either pointless or it angers the students and especially seniors since people who run this school go out of their way to make sure seniors aren't doing drugs when they really have no control over it anyways. Teachers are whatever their actually doing their job but the other people are just freakin annoying and need to shove it.

Michael Jackson
Although I do respect Michael Jackson somewhat for his great success in entertainment, I find it hard to be a fan of someone who REALLY creeps me out. If I can't even look at him without being scared, how am I supposed to enjoy an entire movie about him? I like many of his songs, and I love him from Jackson 5, but I am way too sketched out by the white nose-fell-off Michael Jackson to truly enjoy a movie about him.

2 Moms' Business
I guess their business, studentbackup.com, does have a market since they made a decent profit off it. I don't really have an opinion on it. But that's cool that two stay at home moms made something of themselves.

yankees...!@#$%^&*()
I am deffinitely a Yankees fan, my dad and brother are obsessed die hard fans, but the reason why I like the Yankees is because Derek Jeter is their captain. Who doesn't like Jeter? You may not like the Yankees, but you deffinitely ATLEAST like Derek Jeter. Not only is he super sexy, but he's got a kind heart and is obviously an all-star player. I won't really care for the Yanks once Jeter's retired, but they'll always be my favorite baseball team just because of him. =)

afghani women
I would be comfortable dealing with such adversity if it came to something that I love to do. I guess the only thing i can think of is going international with music, performing my own songs worldwide. I would go to any country and put on a show for people, even if it was for charity. The reason being is because I would be living my dream and doing what I love most, regardless of the different cultures and languages... that just makes it more interesting and fun!

21st century classroom
Maybe students would want to learn more if our school didn't have so many ridiculous rules. The people who run this school go out of their way and waste time enforcing pointless rules and procedures which don't benefit anything whatsoever. The only thing their stupid rules are doing is annoying everyone and making the students hate this lame school more. Seniors who leave after 9th period are lucky enough to have to wait for every single bus to even leave the parking lot. Any person who is not a senior at this school is kindly let out of the parking lot... while the seniors have to sit and wait. Yeah I'm pretty sure we all have licenses just like they do and it's not the staff of Smithtown High School West's job to decide whether or not we are eligible enough drivers to leave our own High School before the buses or not. Do you know how long it takes for every single bus to leave the school? Pretty long. So we have to go to school, be bored out of our skulls in every single class, be bossed around by people who's salary WE pay, and then finally when the school day is finished, we have to wait an extra 25 minutes just to leave the school...? Is that even legal? Are they SERIOUS here???!?! Sounds like some sort of precinct if you ask me. Might as well put us all in a 10th period class so by the time the class is finished we won't have to wait for the god damn buses to leave to freakin go home. How about the people who run this school go to East where they actually do need rules because THAT'S where all the dopeheads are, not here.

balloon boy
I think that the Heene parents are pretty desperate to be on T.V. They were already on wife swap, and now we find out that they pulled this whole big stunt to try and get on a reality show? Are they nuts? Yes. They are. How would faking your own 6-year old son to be floating off in some ridiculous home-made hovercraft give people any reason to even like you, let alone put you on a T.V show? The only fame they have now is being most idiotic people ever. To lie and say your own son is in a life or death situation even if it would give you a stupid reality T.V show makes you a pretty sick person to begin with.

Obama Nobel Prize
Although I do support Obama and believe that he is greatly helping the U.S., I think that the Norwegian Nobel Committee could have tried a little harder to find a more interesting person to give the prize to. How original, giving the Nobel Peace Prize to a well-liked president... are they trying to tell us something here? Is the world that we now live in so deprived of exceptional peaceful people that they are resorted to awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to finally a decent president of the U.S.? Apparently! Yeah no kidding Obama is awesome, it's about time America voted in a dude with even half a brain to clean up the mess the idiot without a brain made all over the country. Oh, I forgot, he's the first black president! There ya go.

food
I think this whole health concern with the food kids are eating in school has good intentions behind it but in essence is pretty pointless, just as most things are that schools focus their attention on. Yes, obviously bake sales, continuous birthday celebrations in class, cafeteria food and food brought from home can all be unhealthy, just as any food can be. School districts keep fussing about students health, from making gym class mandatory at all ages, to having health classes, and now to regulate their food. If gym class doesn't help the fat kids lose weight, then how will changing the food they eat in school make any difference. Generally, students eat one lunch during their school day, some students dont eat any lunch at all in school. School districts are going out of their way to make students diet during the school day more nutritious, okay, but when they get out of school they just go home and open the cookie jar anyways or have mom or dad or whoever take them to get some fast food. So did it really matter that they had one healthy meal that day? Most people eat healthy food as well even if they eat more fattening foods. School districts waste a lot of time focusing on pointless issues rather than things that actually matter. If a fat kid wants to lose weight, they'll do it on their own, join a sport or change their diet on their own, their school changing their foods won't really help the fat kid.

education in the usa
Yes, I do agree with this article. What I got out of the article was that people in general need to be more open-minded with life.
